Koramangala, one of Bangalore’s hotspots in the food segment, recently saw the opening of another Andhra restaurant on 5th Block. Called Gunpowder, the restaurant claims to serve authentic Andhra cuisine.
Over the last few years, several Andhra-cuisine based eateries have emerged in Bangalore, with the popular ones being Nagarjuna Restaurant in Indiranagar, Royal Andhra Spice in RR Nagar and Nisarga Restaurant in Vijayanagar.
Gunpowder serves delicacies such as Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, Mutton Biryani, Fish Roast, vegetarian meals, non-vegetarian meals and Gongura Prawns, among other things. Owner Ronald Samuel, however, lists Mutton Head Curry and Boti Fry as his signature dishes.
Prices are moderate, with a meal for two available for Rs 700, and the ambience is minimalistic.
Gunpowder will compete with the likes of Coringa in Koramangala, which happens to be more expensive.
Address: 475, Opposite BDA Park, KHB Colony, Koramangala 5th Block, Bangalore
Cost: Rs 700 for two
