Juhu Beach, also known as Juhu Chowpatty is located in the western suburb of Vile-Parle, in Mumbai. Situated approximately at a distance of 18 km from the main city centre; its as good as being away from the citys chaos. It is best to visit Juhu during the months post-monsoon, between the months of October to February. However, the scenic beauty that the beach offers along with cheap food stalls along the shore, make it a perfect spot to chill for a few hours.
Juhu Beach is a name synonymous withMumbai. Whether its Mumbai Darshan for a foreign tourist or a cab ride for thelocalMumbaikar, Juhu Beach is integral to everyones scheme of things. The gurgling Arabian Sea, the infinite sand and a bevy of famoushotels at the southern end of the beach the attractions are dime a dozen.

How to reach
The nearest railway stations to Juhu beach are Vile Parle and Santacruz which fall on the western line. From there, one can hire an auto-rickshaw that approximately costs Rs. 35-40.
People travelling by central line can change trains at Dadar and then de-board at Santacruz station. Another option could be to arrive at Ghatkopar station and then take a metro towards D.N. Nagar metro station. From D.N. Nagar metro, the beach is at a distance of approximately 5 km.
People travelling by harbour line can change trains initially at Kurla and then at Dadar to head towards Santacruz. One more option is to board a Panvel-Andheri train and then de-board at Santacruz station; however, the frequency of the trains plying on this line is low. Another option could be to change trains at Kurla and then de-board at Ghatkopar to take a metro towards D.N. Nagar. As mentioned above, the beach is at a distance of approximately 5 km from D.N. Nagar metro station.
Things to do
Jogging: One of the first images the mind conjures up on hearing the word beach is the possibility of a walk/sprint along it. The beach is frequented by a lot of celebrities who also come for their evening workout or jog by the beach.
Tip: When exhausted, you can rest at the beach side and enjoy the scenic view.
Walk your Pet: Dont limit the fitness regime to yourself, for your pet needs to breathe fresh air too; and what better place than Juhu Beach for it, where you can let your pets paw on the sand and mingle with other pets.
Tip: Make sure to keep the collar on your pet and carry biscuits for the stray ones.
Its playtime for kids: Go out with your friends, set up a net and play volleyball like a pro. Or football by the beach is a great idea, too! Dont restrict yourself to the regular game. Kite flying could be a change from your regular me-time at the beach.
Tip: Buy funky kites and balloons on the beach that come in the shapes of airplane, Spiderman etc. The prices range from Rs. 20 to Rs. 50.
Some accessory shopping:Not looking for a bag? Dont worry. You will anyway end up buying the pretty embroidered bags that the vendors sell on the beach that too, at a nominal price of Rs. 100- 250. Always had a thing for Salman Khans turquoise bracelet? Wanted a cool keychain for your bike key? Well, look no further than the vendors at Juhu beach for they can provide you with all these and even funkier stuff at cheap rates. Earrings, necklaces and beautiful stone bracelets are other things you can shop for at the beach. Prices range from Rs. 20 to Rs. 100.
Toys and stationery: Your kids have more reasons than one to visit Juhu beach. There are a number of beach-side stalls selling affordable soft toys. A remote-controlled car or robot will only cheer your kid up!
All the fun at the beach might tire you and make you hungry. While there are numerous stalls lined up along the beach; Juhu offers a number of options to chill out and eat at after a tiring walk.

Located at Novotel, Juhu Beach feels more Goa like when you sit here with a pint or coffee. The place is worth the money.
